The event which is part of the Chapelton Bike Ride has proved hugely successfully since it was launched in 2016 raising over £41,500 for the charity, which promotes the needs of people with a sight or hearing loss.
Members of the Chapelton community and people from further afield are being encouraged to take part in either of the challenges, which takes place on Sunday 3rd September. Cyclists can choose from two routes - either 46 miles or 12 miles.
For the 5th year running, the 5km walk is again being sponsored by Brio Retirement Living. For those wishing to take part, the walk will begin at 12.15pm on The Lawn at Brio’s Landale Court retirement community in Chapelton and wend its way through the picturesque grounds of Elsick House, finishing back at The Lawn.
Throughout the day, participants and supporters will also be able to fun family events and a great selection of stalls and kids entertainment throughout Chapelton. Landale Court’s brasserie, bar and coffee lounge Slate & Grain will also be open for people to pop in for refreshments and tasty treats.
The walk is open to all, including dogs, and is only £5 to register. Entry fee will be donated to OaKley Play and Life Skills Centre.
