Brio Retirement Living – part of Places for People - has welcomed leisure and wellbeing expert, Matt Cotton to its development at Beechwood Park in The Cotswolds’ picturesque Stow-on-the-Wold.
Matt, 42 and from Tewkesbury, brings a broad wealth of experience with him – impressively progressing from graduate to general manager of a Places for People leisure complex in Tewkesbury, to co-ordinating the opening of a larger venue where he oversaw its gym, workout programmes and facilitated children’s learn to swim classes – increasing young attendees from 650 to 1300 per week during his time there. Now, Matt is bringing his leisure industry knowledge alongside a personal passion to work within a later living development, to Beechwood Park - allowing him to continue making a difference in peoples lives for the better.
He explains: “Leisure gave me a great feeling – seeing first-hand that I was making a positive impact on people’s lives through improving their health and wellbeing. I’m so thankful I’m able to transfer these skills to my role at Beechwood Park and share my knowledge with the homeowners’ keen to start, or maintain, their physical wellbeing journey – I’m very excited to be part of the fantastic and dynamic team here.
“After 22 years in the leisure industry I knew it was time for a change and this decision was an easy one after I’d visited Beechwood Park. Not only is it a beautiful place to embrace retirement, but the atmosphere here is so positive with everyone keen to live life to the full. My role here will allow me to continue making a difference in people’s lives and help them to improve their health and wellbeing both physically and mentally. Beechwood Park has so much to offer, and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”
