Brio Retirement Living sponsored North Cotswold Rotary Club’s third Festival of Motoring event, which raised more than £8,000 for MIND Swindon and Gloucestershire.
More than 2,200 members of the public enjoyed the event which showcased over 200 classic and modern cars, as well as stars from the movies courtesy of Motion Picture Motors.
Brio Retirement Living, which has its age-exclusive Beechwood Park development at Stow-on-the-Wold, was the main corporate sponsor of the Festival of Motoring event, which saw people visiting the show from across the Cotswolds.
Karl Hallows, Director of Operations at Brio Retirement Living said: “At Places for People, one of our main aims is putting People First and supporting the communities where we deliver homes. As part of our three year corporate sponsorship agreement with North Cotswold Rotary, we were delighted to get involved and be the main sponsor at the event which attracted people from across the region who enjoyed a family-fun day out for all. It’s really important to be part of an event that raised much-needed funds for local a charity, especially after such a challenging year.
“We were also thrilled that the Rotary Club and the team from Motion Picture Motors visited our Beechwood Park retirement village to give our residents a preview of the stars from the movies. From classic shows like only Fools and Horses to Knightrider – our residents were able to get an exclusive look at the cars as they paraded around our forecourt and spent a few hours with us. It was wonderful to see our residents look around the cars and reminisce with the owners.”
Peter Boxall from North Cotswold Rotary Club said “We would like to thank Brio Retirement Living for their continued support and for sponsoring our third Festival of Motoring family day.
“It’s a great day with people from across the region attending to view modern, classic and cars from the movies. Even more importantly, it’s wonderful to see how much money has been raised to support MIND Swindon and Gloucestershire. Thanks go to everyone who took part and made the event so successful. We look forward to working with Brio Retirement Living on future events.”
North Cotswolds Rotary was established in 1965 and its membership covers Northleach, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh.
