The beautiful Cotswold countryside was the stunning backdrop to the Greystones Swan Lake 10k run on Sunday 4 July 2021.

We were delighted to sponsor this fantastic community event to help raise funds for Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and support their continued work to protect the environment and provide local education programmes on conservation and wildlife.

The run, which took place at Greystones Farm Nature Reserve, was jointly organised by the North Cotswolds Rotary Club and the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.

Brio Retirement Living, with our beautiful Beechwood Park community located nearby in picturesque Stow-on-the-Wold, was the main corporate sponsor of the event, which saw runners take on the scenic course around the Cotswold countryside.

The cross-country run took participants across fields, quiet country roads and scenic tracks, with the start and finish by the Visitors Centre at Greystones Farm Nature Reserve. Prizes were awarded for the first three men and first three women to sprint to the finish the run.

Runner Freddy Fielding proudly took first place in the men's category (pictured far right), Lauren Cooper who took the top spot in the women's category (pictured centre) and Bentley Fasasi came first place in the children's fun run around the archaeological hill fort (pictured far left).

Beechwood Park General Manager, Kelda Fasasi, who was at the event to support on the day, commented: “The run was a great success and it was worth all the hard work and effort of everyone involved from the North Cotswold Rotary Club, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and of course, Brio Retirement Living.

“It’s fantastic to be able to support our local community here in the Cotswolds and be a part of such a wonderful event whilst also helping the Trust to continue with their work to protect the beautiful environment here."

Kelda added: “It was an excellent day. Congratulations to everyone who came along and took part!”
