A Topping out ceremony has marked the structural completion of four bungalows at Beechwood Park – a new retirement community in Stow-on-the-Wold.
Brio Retirement Living celebrated the major milestone at Brio Beechwood Park on Thursday 28 February with construction partner Stepnell, Stow-on-the-Wold Town Council Mayor Cllr Ben Eddolls, members of North Cotswold Rotary and invited guests.
The event was marked by Brio Retirement Living’s Director of Development and Sales Karl Hallows who symbolically placed the final coping stone on the roof edge of a bungalow in Cowslip Court.
The topping out of the bungalows marks Stepnell’s progress at Brio Beechwood Park since construction work got underway 13 months ago.

Once completed, Brio Beechwood Park will offer 106 new homes for retirees in a range of two and three-bedroom bungalows and one, two and three-bedroom apartments for people to buy.
The first homes will be available to move into from summer 2019.
Karl Hallows, Director of Development and Sales of Brio Retirement Living, said: “The topping out ceremony is a key moment for Brio Retirement Living and Brio Beechwood Park as it brings together our work in Stow-on-the-Wold and cements our vision of creating a new retirement community in the heart of the Cotswolds.
“Beechwood Park will offer a wonderful lifestyle experience for its retired homeowners with a wide choice of property types, each designed to suit different needs and lifestyles.
“This is enhanced by our onsite staff who are able to provide care and support if and when needed 24 hours a day and a range of facilities including a brasserie and bar, homeowner’s club lounge, hobby room, fitness studio, spa, stunning outdoor spaces and a shuttle bus service.”
Chris Faulkner, Stepnell’s regional director said: “It’s exciting to see this fantastic new Brio retirement community taking shape. The building programme is progressing well with the structural completion of four new bungalows and the construction of the retaining wall and the basement well under way.
“Works have now started on the superstructure for the apartment blocks in Cowslip Court which is making good progress and we have started the building foundations for the first two residential blocks of phase two.”
Earlier this month Brio Retirement Living released the prices of three types of bungalows, comprising two and three-bedrooms, at Cowslip Court as well as one and two-bedroom apartments. The newly released homes add to a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, which were launched for sale towards the end of last year and are located at Pennycrest Court.
Ed Alexander, President of North Cotswold Rotary, said: “We are delighted to be attending the event today to celebrate the development being one step closer to completion. Brio Beechwood Park is really beginning to take shape and we look forward to working alongside Brio at a number of events we have planned this summer.”
All properties have been designed to the highest specification including a handle-less kitchen with integrated, easy to use NEFF cooking appliances and a floor to ceiling ceramic-tiled bathroom with white sanitaryware and walk-in shower. All homes also feature a home automation system and online access to Brio’s vast range of guest services.
Christmas is the season of giving, so Brio Retirement Living staff at Beechwood Park in Stow-on-the-Wold took part in various fundraising activities to raise money for local good causes.
