Brio Retirement Living is hosting a series of exciting food tasting events at its very own brasserie and bar at two of its retirement living communities set to open this summer.

Slate & Grain, which is exclusive to Brio Retirement Living, will open at Brio Button House in Hackbridge in August and soon after Brio Landale Court in Chapelton in September.

We are giving local people and future residents a chance to sample some of the delicious dishes and select their favourites.

Those dishes, made with seasonal produce and always cooked fresh to order, will be tasted and tested and the best ones will then go onto the brand-new menu in each of the retirement living communities.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the chefs and culinary teams to hear how the dishes are made.

Karl Hallows, Director of Development and Sales of Brio Retirement Living said: “We’re always keen to gain insights and views from local people and future residents and there’s no exception where food is concerned. This is a great way not only to sample some amazing food but to have a say in what goes on the menu, which will be enjoyed by other guests in the future.”

Once open, Slate & Grain will offer everything from a freshly made latte to a relaxing brunch, as well as lunch, afternoon tea or evening meal.

There’s also an extensive drinks menu with a handpicked list of fine wines from around the globe which can be enjoyed inside the stylish and contemporary setting.

The brasserie and bar will be open to the wider community as well as residents of each community.

The first tasting event was held on 18 July at Landale Court in Chapelton and we received some great insight. The local residents and customers who took part will be invited back to try out the new menu. We pride ourselves on providing as much fresh and seasonal produce as possible in our brasserie, and we’ll be inviting people to come along, sample the menu and enjoy the Slate & Grain hospitality.
