Stow’s Christmas Tree Festival has proved another huge success raising £4,700 for St Edwards Parish Church.
A total of 45 Christmas trees were on display in the church decorated by local community groups, schools and businesses, including the team at Brio Stow. Visitors got the chance to vote for their favourite tree and enjoy a host of entertainment including a Christmas concert by Stow Primary School, festival lunch, and music from the North Cotswold Wind Band.
Amy Deehan, Sales Manager for Brio Stow said: “We were delighted to be involved in the Christmas Tree Festival and hope that we can take part again this year. The organisers worked incredibly hard to deliver a hugely successful event, which not only helped to bring people together to celebrate Christmas but raise vital funds for St Edwards church.”
A tree decorated by Stow Women’s Institute (WI) was crowned the overall winner of the event. The best children’s tree was created by Stow Primary School, and the community group Closely Knit, topped the organisations category. Badham pharmacy was a double winner as picked up the title for best tree from a local business and their entry was chosen by celebrity cook and Cotswolds resident, Prue Leith, as her favourite.
All trees were donated by Fosseway Garden Centre.
Christmas is the season of giving, so Brio Retirement Living staff at Beechwood Park in Stow-on-the-Wold took part in various fundraising activities to raise money for local good causes.

Loneliness can be an issue for anyone of any age at any time in their lives, but the festive season can be the loneliest time of all for so many people.
