Brio Retirement Living has strengthened its senior team appointing two general managers for new retirement communities in South London and Gloucestershire.
Deepak Khanka has been appointed General Manager for Brio Hackbridge, a new rental retirement community located just nine miles outside of London. Due to open in summer 2019, the development will feature 80 one and two-bedroom apartments.
Bringing extensive hospitality experience to the team, Deepak joins from Holiday Inn where he was responsible for running a four-star hotel at Southend Airport. He also spent six years working on cruise ships for Carnival Cruise Lines Miami, where he was food and beverage manager.
Speaking about his new role, Deepak said: “I will be bringing years of hospitality experience to Brio Hackbridge, which is our first full-rental retirement community. The skills and knowledge I’ve gained throughout my career will ensure our team provides a customer-focused service that meets the needs and lifestyle of the modern retiree.”
Kelda Fasasi joins Brio as General Manager and Head of Care for Brio Beechwood Park, a new retirement community in Stow-on-the-Wold. Offering 106 new homes, including bungalows and apartments, the development will be welcoming homeowners from the summer.
With more than 15 years’ experience of the care industry, Kelda has a degree in social care and held senior leadership positions for property groups across the UK. She joins from a live-in national care provider where she was business development director.
Commenting on her new appointment, Kelda said: “This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the opening and running of a new retirement community that combines good health, social opportunities and independence with tailored care if needed.
“My experience of the retirement industry coupled with my specialist knowledge of the care sector, will be instrumental in delivering the highest standards of service to retirees.”
Jane Barker, Managing Director for Brio Retirement Living, said: “We are delighted to welcome Deepak and Kelda to lead Brio’s Beechwood Park and Hackbridge retirement communities. It is an exciting time to join Brio as our first homeowners are set to move in to these communities this summer.
“Retirement today means something very different to what it has in the past. Brio general managers will play a pivotal role in facilitating the lifestyle, amenities and tailored care and support retirees will enjoy while living at a Brio retirement community.”
As well as offering high-quality homes for the older generation, Brio Hackbridge and Brio Beechwood Park will feature a range of onsite facilities aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles and independence, including a brasserie and bar, homeowner’s club lounge, hobby room, fitness studio and outdoor spaces.
Christmas is the season of giving, so Brio Retirement Living staff at Beechwood Park in Stow-on-the-Wold took part in various fundraising activities to raise money for local good causes.
