Homeowners in the new town of Chapelton, near Stonehaven, have celebrated the start of the festive season with the annual Christmas Tree lights switch on event.
Brio Retirement Living’s new community at the heart of Chapelton, named Landale Court, welcomed people of all ages to get into the festive spirit and joined neighbours from the surrounding community for a day of Christmas-themed activities on Thursday, 6 December.
The event gave prospective homeowners the chance to meet their neighbours, see the wider town and experience the community atmosphere of Chapelton, whilst enjoying some of the seasonal activities on offer. During the event, Sales Advisor at Brio Retirement Living, Landale Court, Ashleigh Baldwin, led the annual Brio Christmas Tree light switch on, after visitors had had an exclusive tour of the newly completed showhome apartment.
Kelsey Williamson, General Manager at Landale Court, said:
“It’s really important to me as manager at Landale Court that we foster a strong sense of community spirit. After all, our neighbours are an important part of ensuring that everyone feels welcome, comfortable, supported and truly at home.
“Everyday we’re seeing more and more progress on site, so events like this are a fantastic opportunity for us to invite people to come and have a look around both Landale Court and the wider town of Chapelton, to see what the picturesque town of Chapelton has to offer!”
The Duke and Duchess of Fife of Elsick Development Company, the organisation behind Chapelton itself also organised a festive event and Christmas lights switch on. Father Christmas switched on the lights in the 12 trees that surround Hume Square, which have been decorated by the children of nearby Newtonhill Primary School with the theme of the 12 days of Christmas. Following the Christmas light switch on, guests were led down to the Nether Cairnhill Steading for the Chapelton Christmas market.
Guests were able to visit the festival stalls and savour a range of food and drinks from the as well as browsing stalls selling an array of Christmas cards, wreaths, candles, gifts and personalised drawings. There was also two charity stalls on the day where people could make donations to North East Sensory Services and Pillar Kincardine.
