The growing community at Chapelton, just south of Aberdeen, has had its first glimpse of a new phase in the town’s ongoing development. Brio Retirement Living has recently received planning permission for a new 94-home community within the heart of the town.
The mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and cottages in a range of sizes has been aligned to the same design principles that have made Chapelton such an attractive destination within the local area.
As well as new homes, at the heart of Brio’s plans for Chapelton are a Community Hub with a range of facilities; which may include a Bistro, wellbeing suite, a Club House for events and socialising, and more.
Around 30 residents of Chapelton attended an information event regarding the plans last year; with 80% of written feedback indicating strong demand for retirement accommodation within the town.
Karl Hallows, Director of Development and Sales at Brio Retirement Living said: “Chapelton is quickly establishing its reputation as a thriving new town with huge potential for growth, as well as a clear focus on high-quality design.
“Brio Chapelton has been designed to these same principles, and aims to provide a unique offer for later living in the Aberdeenshire area."
The new town being built at Chapelton, led by the Elsick Development Company, will eventually see the creation of 8,000 new homes alongside shops, offices, community facilities and schools. Five miles south of Aberdeen, the town’s first neighbourhood of Cairnhill is already blossoming with shops, a nursery school and a tea room.
Caroline Fife, Director of Elsick Development Company said: “Brio Retirement Living will be a perfect fit for Chapelton; enhancing the diversity of residents in the town, as well as bringing improved facilities and employment opportunities to the wider area."
