Walkers in Chapelton help to raise over £1,700 in aid of NESS

Earlier this month our team in Chapelton were joined by walkers and families from across the local community for the return of our annual charity walk event.

The groups who attended this year’s event, the second Chapelton Community Charity Walk, were treated to some scenic countryside views as they took a stroll across the fields and through the woodlands on the route around the nearby Elsick Estate.

Donations throughout the day helped the team to raise total of £1,750 at this year’s event for NESS, a charity which supports the needs of people with sight or hearing loss.

The Chapelton Community Charity Walk took place on the same day as the Chapelton bike ride, together the two events raised a combined total of £7,933.

Karl Hallows, director of development and sales at Brio Retirement Living, said:

“I’d like to say thank you to all those who came along to the walk on Sunday and donated both their time and money to support such a worthy cause, as well as thanking our construction team including the sub-contractors and suppliers. On behalf of all of the Brio team in Chapelton, we’re extremely proud of the amount we’ve raised for NESS at this year’s event.

“The work that NESS does has such a positive impact on so many lives across the community, offering support with emotional well-being, social inclusion, economic security and independent living. The services they offer could not be possible without the support of their local communities, so we’re pleased that we’ve been able to play our part with the help of donations from our community walk event.

“Encouraging and promoting a strong community spirit is a fundamental part of our vision for Landale Court, and it our hope that this event becomes an important part of our annual calendar, returning year after year.”

People registering for the event on the day were also entered into a prize draw to be in with a chance of winning a Nuvo stereo speaker, donated by Legrand, producers of the ‘My Home Up’ home automation system used in Brio’s homes at Landale Court.
