MORAG PASSES THE BATON ON TO HER NAMESAKE AS NEW GENERAL MANAGER IS WELCOMED TO LANDALE COURT IN THE BEAUTIFUL ABERDEENSHIRE TOWN OF CHAPELTON
01 October 2024
Brio Retirement Living has welcomed its new General Manager, Morag Macindoe, to its team at Landale Court in Chapelton, as her predecessor, much-loved Morag Stark, prepares to retire in sunny Spain.
Morag Macindoe, 56, joins the team with an array of hospitality experience, holding previous roles managing high-end hotels, with her most recent post overseeing the running of the Royal Deeside Luxury Lodges in Ballater where she was responsible for the day-to-day management and ensuring guests received outstanding service.
“I loved ensuring that our customers were well looked after but my role at Brio means that I can do this on a long-term basis and actually get to know the people here on a personal level.” Shared Morag. “Although it’s early days in this position I’ve already met so many homeowners and feel a part of this wonderful community already.”
“I feel very lucky to have had Morag guide me through the initial first few weeks – often you take a new role without any guidance, but she’s been a wonderful help. I knew of the Brio Retirement Developments prior to joining and am thoroughly impressed by the standard of homes, all offering independent living. The homeowners here amaze me – they exude a positive outlook with a desire for social interaction which is a daily joy. I’m very lucky in that I’ve always worked in lovely properties and Landale Court really is something special. Everyone is so lovely and multi-generational Chapelton has a really nice feel to it – I feel very welcomed and happy in my new role which is a blessing.”
Morag has joined Landale Court just as the development has launched its second phase of later living properties. For the first time, seven larger 3-bedroom properties are available to buy, rent or part buy/part rent, whilst an additional seven stunning 2-bedroom cottages and eight 1-bedroom apartments are also available for those looking to move to the vibrant development.
“The team here are testament to Landale Court’s success”, continues Morag. “They are so upbeat and its refreshing to see everyone walking around with genuine smiles on their faces. I attend the weekly coffee morning here and am doing well putting names to faces – its imperative I get to know our homeowners so I can ensure not only the development runs well from a business perspective but also that our homeowners know they can come to me and the team with any queries they may have – or just for a friendly natter!”
Within her new role, Morag is keen to bring her previous management experience and has a keen eye for health and safety whilst ensuring budgets are used wisely on the financial side of the business. She’s also working towards putting her personal stamp on the day-to-day running of the development, ensuring the transition from Morag to Morag is seamlessly managed.
“My role here at Landale Court is a blessing is so many ways – from my drive to work being shorter, being able to interact with people on a long-term basis, to my work/life balance also seeing an improvement – which is so lovely as I can now spend more time with my 83-year-old mum. I also love to keep fit by running and getting out on my bike – and the homeowners here certainly give me a run for my money with the activities they do! I’ve popped along to see them enjoy fitness sessions, crafting classes and I am looking forward to joining in with the frequent events we hold here too – their energy and zest for life is inspirational and I’m looking forward to my future here at Landale Court.” Concluded Morag.
Each property at Landale Court boasts private outdoor space, whilst Phase 2 also brings a 3-bedroom unique detached home which is the largest Brio style to date boasting 1259sqft of floor space. Many of the new properties offer flexible accommodation – some with a ground floor bathroom and bedroom, with a number of homes having the option to install a home lift if required for futureproofing.
The expanded 94-home development offers those seeking a fulfilling retirement with an array of facilities including a neighbourhood green, fire pit den, quiet garden as well as The Hub – the social heartbeat of the community filled with a hobby room, club room and the Slate & Grain brasserie, bar and coffee lounge.
