FROM SOUTH AFRICA TO SUTTON - BUTTON HOUSE WELCOMES TWO NEW MEMBERS TO ITS TEAM IN THE PRETTY SOUTH LONDON SUBURB OF HACKBRIDGE
16 October 2024
Brio Retirement Living has bolstered its team at its Button House development in Hackbridge – welcoming two new team members to its vibrant later living village, located just minutes from Beddington Park, one of London’s best green spaces, where the River Wandle runs through.
Senior Retirement Living Advisor Alastair Glossop, 40, who recently upped sticks from South Africa, joins with vast experience from his previous role in luxury retirement living in Cape Town, whilst retirement living advisor, Christie Hemmings, 27, brings over seven years of experience working in property – excelling in local knowledge.
Speaking of his experiences and new role, Alastair shared: “Both my wife and I relocated from Cape Town to Fulham, Surrey, in 2023. I’ve swapped the warm weather of South Africa for the warmth of both homeowners and the team here at Button House – the real sense of community has made me feel extremely welcome and a part of the team in under a month! I’m loving my role – helping people find their forever home is very rewarding and I have the privilege of interacting with homeowners on a daily basis, they’re always around and happy to chat, and I can’t wait to meet more new homeowners when they move into this beautiful development!”
Christie began her role at Button House a few months prior to Alastair but they’re already a well-oiled team. Christie commented on her new role and shared: “I’m really loving being a part of Button House and working with Alastair. Hackbridge is a fabulous area to live, work and play in – I feel very lucky. My role is to help guide and support couples and individuals in the new chapter of their lives and because Button House is a safe, friendly and fun retirement community for those aged over 55, I’ve seen true friendships form between residents and staff, which is amazing. I love having a casual chat or a deep and meaningful conversation with our residents – it’s not just enriching their lives but mine too! “
Both Alastair and Christie have goals to work towards together too. Alastair added: “I was having a chat with Christie the other day and she said her future here is to transform lives, provide ongoing support to residents and their families and to grow our wonderful community! And I cannot agree more! We come up with fresh ideas daily and both love being a part of Button House.”
Outside of work Alastair loves spending time with his wife Chrissy, going to the gym, playing his guitar and reading a good book. He’s also a lifelong supporter of the Springboks.
Christie is also a fan of keeping fit and enjoys Yoga & Pilates, scuba diving, swimming, sailing, nature walks, socialising and enjoying family time. She’s also a self-confessed ‘cat mum’ of two beautiful Ragdoll cats.
Alastair and Christie are welcoming visitors to sample the good life at Button House which boasts a new collection of 80 stylish assisted living apartments, situated over four floors, all accessible by lift and stairs. The community features a range of beautiful one- and two-bedroom homes all suitably designed for those over the age of 55. Each home comes with a private and spacious balcony, plus a range of exciting onsite facilities including a fitness studio, the exclusive Slate & Grain brasserie, bar and coffee lounge, a community hub and more, and homeowners can shirk their domestic responsibilities, with cleaning, laundry and pet sitting services that free up time for doing the fun things in life – like spending time with their grandchildren!
Button House is located within the vibrant New Quarter Mill development and offers a wonderful atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. Perfect for those looking to move into a community that makes life easier, more enjoyable and ultimately a great place to live. And, quietly waiting in the wings is the provision of flexible care and support packages, on offer 24/7 should homeowners need it, meaning every second of life can be enjoyed without worry.
